Elementary age students would attend Midland Academy, which has 404 students
(capacity: 588). Middle School age students would attend Blackmon Road Middle
School, which has 779 students (capacity: 775). High school age students would
attend Shaw, which has 1,094 students (capacity: 1,350).
- Buffer Requirements
- The proposed development shall have a Category B buffer requirement along all
property lines bordered by the SFR3 zoning district. The 3 options under
Category B are:
1) 15 feet with a certain amount of canopy trees, understory trees, and shrubs
/ ornamental grasses per 100 linear feet
2) 10 feet with a certain amount of understory trees and shrubs / ornamental
grasses per 100 linear feet and a wood fence or masonry wall
3) 20 feet undisturbed natural buffer.

- Thirty-eight (38) property owners within 300 feet were notified of the rezoning
request. The Planning Department received several comments opposing the
rezoning and one comment supporting the rezoning.
