A Resolution Authorizing THE SUBMISSION AND ACCEPTANCE OF A PASS-THROUGH GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $66,400 \n \n OR AS AWARDED FROM THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE OF HIGHWAY SAFETY ON BEHALF OF THE \n \n URBAN LEAGUE OF GREATER COLUMBUS, INC., AND TO AMEND THE MULTI-GRANT FUND BY A \n \n LIKE AMOUNT. whereas, the mission of the Governor's Office of Highway Safety is to educate the public \n \n on traffic safety and facilitate programs that reduce the number of crashes, \n \n injuries and fatalities on Georgia's highways; and,
whereas, the Urban League of Greater Columbus, Inc., is applying for a renewal grant in \n \n the amount of $66,400 to promote programs designed to increase overall child \n \n restraint usage, reduce youth alcohol/drug related crashes, injuries and \n \n fatalities, and increase seat belt usage; and,
WHEREAS, the Columbus Consolidated Government is once again asked to serve as \n \n the fiscal agent/recipient for this grant, with no matching funds involved, and \n \n the Urban League of Greater Columbus, Inc., will be the sub-recipient.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That the Mayor and/or City Manager are hereby authorized to submit an \n \n application and if approved accept a grant in the amount of $66,400 or as \n \n awarded from the Governor's Office of Highway Safety and amend the Multi-Grant \n \n Fund by a like amount.
