A Resolution Authorizing ENTERING INTO A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MOU) WITH HISTORIC LINWOOD \n \n FOUNDATION, INC., DEFINING THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CITY AND HISTORIC \n \n LINWOOD FOUNDATION IN THE MANAGEMENT OF THE CHAPEL. whereas, pursuant to Resolution No. 428-05, the Linwood Cemetery Foundation, Inc., has \n \n successfully moved a chapel to the Linwood Cemetery site (close to 10th \n \n Avenue). The Historic Linwood Foundation now wishes to enter into a MOU with \n \n the City, said copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof; and,
whereas, this property is owned by the City. The Foundation will be responsible for \n \n fund-raising. The City will maintain its authority over the cemetery and \n \n provide maintenance and security of the cemetery in a manner consistent with \n \n the maintenance and security provided to other cemeteries under the control of \n \n the City.The property cannot be used for any other purpose other than a \n \n cemetery and associated facilities; and, \n \n WHEREAS, the foundation will pay all associated cost of upkeep and making any \n \n improvements to the chapel. Additionally, the foundation agrees there will be \n \n no cost to the city associated with operating or maintaining the chapel.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a Memorandum of \n \n Understanding with Historic Linwood Foundation, Inc., concerning the operation \n \n and maintenance of the Chapel.
