A Resolution Authorizing _THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A QUIT CLAIM DEED FROM THE STATE OF GEORGIA, STATE \n \n PROPERTIES COMMISSION FOR A 2.9 ACRE TRACT, PARCEL 072 008 008 LOCATED AT 3508 \n \n OBERLIN DRIVE.___________ whereas, Columbus Technical College utilized a 2.9 acre tract of property located at \n \n 3508 Oberlin Drive adjacent to the Columbus Botanical Gardens in the \n \n horticulture program and, ______________
whereas, Columbus Technical College discontinued offering a horticulture program and the \n \n property was declared surplus by the Technical College System of Georgia and, \n \n WHEREAS, The General Assembly approved the surplus of the 2.9 acre tract and \n \n conveyance of the property to the Consolidated Government in Act No. 595, S.R. \n \n 788 and, \n \n WHEREAS, The State Properties Commission approved the conveyance of the \n \n property to the Consolidated Government of Columbus on June 11, 2014 for \n \n perpetual public use and,__________
WHEREAS, The Consolidated Government of Columbus desires to acquire the \n \n property for public purposes.____________
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
_The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a quit claim deed from the \n \n State of Georgia, State Properties Commission for a 2.9 acre tract, Parcel 072 \n \n 008 008 located at 3508 Oberlin Drive to be used for public \n \n purposes._____________
