A Resolution Authorizing THE APPLICATION FOR AND ACCEPTANCE OF PASS-THROUGH GRANTS FROM THE GEORGIA \n \n DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AFFAIRS TOTALING $100,000 FOR: RENAISSANCE PERSONAL \n \n DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM - $20,000; COLUMBUS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE JOB TRAINING \n \n PROGRAM - $20,000; LIBERTY THEATRE CULTURAL ARTS PROGRAM - $20,000; BUILDING \n \n TOWARD WELLNESS HEALTH CARE INTERVENTION - $10,000; HOUSE OF MERCY - $15,000; \n \n AND THE BRIDGE G.E.D. PROGRAM - $15,000; AND AMEND THE MULTI-GOVERNMENTAL FUND \n \n BY A LIKE AMOUNT. whereas, Columbus, as the local government agency, is the conduit for certain grants \n \n appropriated by the state General Assembly for community service agencies; and,
whereas, upon acceptance of agreements and execution of contracts for each approved \n \n community service organization, Columbus will receive funds and then process \n \n payments to the designated agencies.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the pass-through grant agreement, subsequent contract and \n \n funds be processed by the City of Columbus for the various local agencies \n \n listed above as appropriated by the General Assembly. \n \n \n \n 2. That the Mayor, City Manager and other officials of Columbus are \n \n authorized to take such actions as required for satisfaction of the grant \n \n conditions.
