A Resolution Authorizing THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MOU) WITH \n \n TREESCOLUMBUS, INC., FOR REIMBURSEMENT TO THE CITY FOR CONSULTANT SERVICES FOR \n \n THE VETERANS PARKWAY STREETSCAPES PROJECT. whereas, in 2004, TreesColumbus, Inc., initiated and received approval for a $1 million \n \n Transportation Enhancement grant from the Georgia Department of Transportation \n \n (GDOT), for streetscape improvements along Veterans Parkway, from Victory Drive \n \n to 14th Street; and,
whereas, the grant funds require a twenty (20) percent match, which TreesColumbus, Inc., \n \n had previously agreed to, prior to the submission of this grant, that will be \n \n used to pay for the consultant services needed to design and develop the \n \n streetscape project, not to exceed $255,000; and,
WHEREAS, a Memorandum of Understanding has been prepared to define how the \n \n payment of the twenty percent match by TreesColumbus, Inc., to the City of \n \n Columbus will be performed.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a MOU with \n \n TreesColumbus, Inc., to define and receive payment of the twenty percent match \n \n needed for the Veterans Parkway Streetscapes Project.
