A Resolution Authorizing A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION, AND IF APPROVED, ACCEPT UP \n \n TO $8,000 GOVERNOR'S OFFICE OF HIGHWAY SAFETY (GOHS) GRANT FOR THE ACQUISITION \n \n OF ONE INTOXILYZER 9000 INSTRUMENT, AND AMEND THE MULTI-GOVERNMENTAL FUND BY \n \n THE AMOUNT OF THE AWARD. THERE IS NO LOCAL MATCH REQUIREMENT. whereas, the GOHS announced a 2014 grant assistance program for assisting Georgia law \n \n enforcement agencies with a mandated Intoxilyzer 9000 instrument transition; \n \n and,
whereas, the Sheriff's Office is eligible to receive a GOHS grant not to exceed $8,000 \n \n for the purchase of one Intoxilyzer 9000 during the 2014 award period.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That the City Manager is hereby authorized to submit an application, and if \n \n approved, accept a maximum GOHS grant award of $8,000 for the Sheriff's Office \n \n to purchase one Intoxilyzer 9000 instrument, and amend the Multi-Governmental \n \n Fund by the amount of the award.
