A Resolution Authorizing TO DECLARE PROPERTY DESCRIBED AS A 400 SQUARE FOOT (20' X 20') +/- SITE ON \n \n LABON DRIVE (A CLOSED ROAD ON TAX MAP 082 050 BETWEEN LOTS 016 AND 017) AS \n \n SURPLUS AND TRANSFER AT NO COST TO THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION (FAA). whereas, the property is needed by the FAA to install a Lower Level Windshear Alert \n \n Sensor (LLWAS) facility to measure wind bursts at ground level; and,
whereas, the FAA will require approximately a 400 square foot (20' x 20') +/- site with \n \n an access easement on Labon Drive; and,
WHEREAS, the LLWAS facility is needed for the safety of the general flying \n \n public at the Columbus Metropolitan Airport, in Columbus, Georgia; and, \n \n WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the Consolidated Government of Columbus \n \n to declare the property as surplus and transfer the property with a \n \n reversionary clause to the FAA.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That the City Manager is hereby authorized to declared as surplus and transfer \n \n at no cost, a 400 square foot (20' x 20') site on Labon Drive to the Federal \n \n Aviation Administration to install a Lower Level Windshear Alert Sensor (LLWAS) \n \n facility. The property is a closed road on Tax Map 082 050 between Lots 016 and \n \n 017). The Quit Claim Deed shall contain a reversionary clause providing that \n \n should the property no longer be needed for a Lower Level Windshear Alert \n \n Sensor (LLWAS) for the safety f the general public, the property will revert to \n \n the ownership of the City.
