A Resolution Authorizing THE CITY TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION FOR, AND IF AWARDED, ACCEPT A GRANT IN THE \n \n AMOUNT OF $24,681, OR OTHERWISE AWARDED, FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, \n \n OFFICE OF JUVENILE JUSTICE AND DELINQUENCY PREVENTION, WITH NO LOCAL MATCH \n \n REQUIREMENT, AND TO AMEND THE MULTI-GOVERNMENTAL FUND (216) BY THE APPLICABLE \n \n AMOUNT. whereas, the Columbus Consolidated Government is committed to preventing delinquency and \n \n mentoring students at an early age; and,
whereas, the Department of Justice, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency \n \n Prevention has offered a small grant to prevent delinquency and mentor Middle \n \n School Students in the City of Columbus; and,
WHEREAS, the Muscogee County Marshal?s Office requests permission to \n \n make application to receive up to $24,681 funding to fund salaries for the \n \n part-time coordinator, overtime pay for the manager, supplies and equipment, \n \n and other items to operate the Junior Marshal Program. \n \n
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That the City Manager or his designee is hereby authorized to submit an \n \n application and if approved, accept a $24,681 grant from the Department of \n \n Justice, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention and amend the \n \n Multi-Governmental Fund (216) by a like amount.
