A Resolution Authorizing THE CITY MANAGER OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACTUAL AGREEMENT \n \n WITH THE GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO CONDUCT A TRANSPORTATION STUDY \n \n OF THE SECOND AVENUE CORRIDOR. whereas, a study will be conducted to determine what type of streetscape improvements \n \n can be made along this corridor that averages 21,000 vehicle trips per day.
whereas, the Georgia Department of Transportation has authorized Federal/State \n \n Transportation Planning Funds for the Second Avenue Streetscape Study in the \n \n amount of $160,000.00, which requires a local match of twenty (20) percent; and
WHEREAS, the local match of $40,000.00 will be funded from the OLOST \n \n Infrastructure Roads account.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contractual \n \n agreement with the Georgia Department of Transportation to conduct a \n \n transportation (streetscape) study on the Second Avenue Corridor in the amount \n \n of $200,000.00 and will be funded through the use of Transportation Planning \n \n Funds ($160,000.00 - 80%), which requires a twenty percent match ($40,000.00). \n \n The 20% local match has been identified in the OLOST Infrastructure Roads \n \n account.
