A Resolution Authorizing THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO THE OFFICE OF JUVENILE JUSTICE AND \n \n DELINQUENCY PREVENTION FOR A GRANT TO ENHANCE MUSCOGEE COUNTY JUVENILE DRUG \n \n COURT SERVICES UNDER THE CHATTAHOOCHEE JUDICIAL CIRCUIT TO HARRIS COUNTY AND IF \n \n AWARDED, AMEND THE MULTI-GOVERNMENTAL FUND BY THE AMOUNT OF THE GRANT AWARD. \n \n THERE IS A 25% CASH MATCH THAT HARRIS COUNTY HAS AGREED TO FUND FOR THIS THREE \n \n YEAR GRANT PERIOD. whereas, funds have been made available from the Office of Juvenile Justice and \n \n Delinquency Prevention for a three year period upon grant award;
whereas, the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention requires a 25% cash \n \n match and Harris County has agreed provide this match and to enter into a \n \n Memorandum of Understanding and reimburse Columbus Consolidated Government \n \n quarterly throughout the grant period___________
WHEREAS, funds are being made available to enhance drug court services services \n \n under the Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit for Harris County.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That the City Manager is hereby authorized to submit an application for a grant \n \n to the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention to enhance drug \n \n court services of the Muscogee County Juvenile Drug Court under the \n \n Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit to Harris County for a period of 3 years upon \n \n accepting the award. Federal funds in the amount of $244,565.00 or otherwise \n \n awarded and enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with Harris County to \n \n provide the 25% cash match of $74,855.00 or percentage of otherwise awarded for \n \n a total project cost of $299,420.00 and to amend the Multi-governmental Fund by \n \n the amount of the grant award.
