A Resolution Authorizing THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION FOR ADDITIONAL FUNDING TO THE \n \n CRIMINAL JUSTICE COORDINATING COUNCIL TO PROVIDE CONTINUED SERVICES UNDER THE \n \n JUVENILE JUSTICE INCENTIVE GRANT FOR THE MUSCOGEE COUNTY JUVENILE COURT, AND IF \n \n AWARDED, AMEND THE MULTI-GOVERNMENTAL FUND BY THE AMOUNT OF THE GRANT AWARD FOR \n \n THE CURRENT GRANT PERIOD OF JULY 1, 2014 TO JUNE 30, 2015. THERE IS NO LOCAL \n \n MATCH REQUIREMENT. whereas, additional funds in the amount of $17,895 have been made available from the \n \n Criminal Justice Coordinating Council for the Juvenile Court from July 1, 2014 \n \n to June 30, 2015 with no local match requirement; and,
whereas, the funds are available to provide existing services for the effective \n \n community program that is currently serving youth that would otherwise be \n \n committed to the Department of Juvenile Justice and/or sent to a short-term \n \n secured facility as a sanction; and,
WHEREAS, the Evidenced Based Associates, LLC is currently under contract and \n \n providing services for Juvenile Court, per Resolution #281-13 under this \n \n current grant period of July 1, 2014-June 30, 2015.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That the City Manager is hereby authorized to submit an application for \n \n additional funds for the existing operations of the Muscogee County Juvenile \n \n Court from the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council, and if awarded accept the \n \n grant funds with no local match requirement, amend the Multi-Governmental Fund \n \n by the amount of the grant award and continue under contract with Evidence \n \n Based Associates, LLC for the current grant periods of July 1, 2014 to June 30, \n \n 2015.
