A Resolution Authorizing THE CITY TO APPROVE AND ACCEPT THE DONATION GIVEN BY MIDTOWN, INC. FOR THE \n \n INSTALLATION OF A NINE-HOLE DISC GOLF COURSE IN DINGLEWOOD PARK.. whereas, The mission of MidTown, Inc. is to sustain and enhance the neighborhoods and \n \n businesses within MidTown Columbus. With the endorsement of surrounding \n \n businesses and residents of the adjacent historic district, and unanimous BHAR \n \n approval, MidTown, Inc. will fund and oversee installation of a nine-hole disc \n \n golf course within the park. The disc golf course is designed with respect to \n \n the historic and natural character of Dinglewood Park, a low-impact, \n \n family-friendly activity that will add recreational opportunity in the area.
whereas, the Dinglewood Golf Course would afford a low-impact, family-friendly \n \n recreational use of the wooded Dinglewood Park, a use keeping with the \n \n historic, naturalized character of the park and adjacent historic district, and \n \n a complement to the neighborhood commercial center at the Village on 13th. The \n \n course would enhance connectivity between Dinglewood and Lakebottom Parks, and \n \n provide the community with a family-friendly activity new to the area. \n \n \n \n WHEREAS, The value of the equipment and installation that MidTown, Inc. will \n \n gift to the City is approximately $7,500 to $10,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That the City Manager or his designee is hereby authorized to accept \n \n the Gift from MidTown, Inc. in the amount of $7,500 to $10,000 to install a \n \n disc golf course at Dinglewood Park.
