A Resolution Authorizing THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH GEORGIA SOUTHWESTERN RAILROAD, \n \n INC. FOR RAILROAD CROSSING IMPROVEMENTS AT 10TH AVENUE AT 5TH STREET, 10TH \n \n AVENUE NEAR 8TH STREET AND 8TH STREET AT 9TH AVENUE IN THE AMOUNT OF $42,872 whereas, the City of Columbus is making an effort throughout the County to improve the \n \n railroad crossings; and,
whereas, the City has met with Georgian Southwestern Railroad, Inc., and they have \n \n provided estimates to upgrade crossings located at 10th Avenue at 5th Street, \n \n 10th Avenue near 8th Street and 8th Street at 9th Avenue; and,
WHEREAS, the City will coordinate the work schedule with Georgia Southwestern \n \n Railroad, Inc., and reimburse Georgia Southwestern for the material cost.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with Georgia \n \n Southwestern Railroad, Inc., for reimbursements of material for railroad \n \n crossing improvements at 10th Avenue at 5th Street, 10th Avenue near 8th Street \n \n and 8th Street at 9th Avenue in the amount of $42,872. \n \n ______________
