A Resolution Authorizing THE CHANGING OF THE OFFICIAL STREET AND TAX MAPS OF THE CONSOLIDATED GOVERNMENT \n \n OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA BY DECLARING A REMNANT SECTION OF OLD REESE ROAD \n \n RIGHT-OF-WAY SURPLUS; THE SEGMENT OF RIGHT OF WAY BEGINNING AT THE SOUTH RIGHT \n \n OF WAY LINE OF GENTIAN BOULEVARD AND RUNNING SOUTH ALONG THE EAST RIGHT-OF-WAY \n \n LINE OF REESE ROAD AS DEPICTED ON A COPY OF THE SURVEY DRAWING PREPARED BY EMC \n \n ENGINEERING SERVICES, INC. ENTITLED "RIGHT OF WAY TO BE ACQUIRED- OLD REESE \n \n RD-RETAIL STORE" AND DATED OCTOBER 26,2016; SAID DRAWING HIGHLIGHTING SAID \n \n RIGHT OF WAY BEING MADE PART OF THIS RESOLUTION BY REFERENCE; PROVIDING THAT \n \n ALL EXISTING UTILITY EASEMENTS OF RECORD SHALL REMAIN IN EFFECT; PROVIDING \n \n APPROPRIATE WIDTH OF EASEMENTS SHALL BE RESERVED AS REQUIRED BY THE UTILITY \n \n COMPANIES SERVING ADJOINING STREETS AND PROPERTIES BY THE UTILITY COMPANIES FOR \n \n UNKNOWN UTILITIES; AUTHORIZING THE DISPOSAL OF SAID RIGHT-OF-WAY IN ACCORDANCE \n \n WITH COLUMBUS CHARTER ; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. whereas, the right-of-way is no longer needed for public use,
whereas, the developer has committed to construct at their expense a multi-purpose trail \n \n in exchange for the right-of -way,

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. \n \n That the "Official Street Map of the Consolidated Government of \n \n Columbus, Georgia" maintained in accordance with Section 18.1 of the Columbus \n \n Code and appropriate Tax Maps are hereby amended by deleting the following \n \n segment of Old Reese Road: \n \n \n \n ALL THAT TRACT OR PARCEL OF LAND LYING AND BEING SITUATE IN LAND LOT 27 \n \n OF THE EIGHTH LAND DISTRICT, COUNTY OF MUSCOGEE AND CITY OF COLUMBUS, IN THE \n \n STATE OF GEORGIA; AND BEING KNOWN AND DISTINGUISHED AS PARTS OF LOTS 3 & 4, \n \n SUBDIVISION OF THE S.B. HATCHER TRACT, M.M. Ft. \n \n \n \n SECTION II. \n \n That the segment of right-of-way described here within Section I is no \n \n longer needed for roadway purposes. Said segment of right-of-way is hereby \n \n declared surplus and authorized for disposal by the City Manager is accordance \n \n with the Columbus Charter. \n \n SECTION III. \n \n That all existing utility easements of record shall remain in effect \n \n and providing appropriate width easements shall be reserved as required by the \n \n utility companies serving adjoining streets and properties for unknown \n \n utilities.
