A Resolution Authorizing THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE COORDINATING \n \n COUNCIL FOR A GRANT TO FUND THE MUSCOGEE COUNTY JUVENILE COURT AND IF AWARDED \n \n AND AMENDED THE MULTI-GOVERNMENTAL FUND BY THE AMOUNT OF THE GRANT AWARD FOR \n \n THE GRANT PERIOD IS FROM JULY 1, 2019 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2020. whereas, funds in the amount of up to $750,000 have been made available from the \n \n Criminal Justice Coordinating Council for the Juvenile Court from July 1, 2019 \n \n to June 30, 2020; and
whereas, the funds are being made available to provide evidence based treatment for \n \n medium to high risk juvenile offenders who would otherwise be committed to the \n \n Department of Juvenile Justice or detained in a short-term secured facility;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That the City Manager is hereby authorized to submit an application for a grant \n \n to the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council to fund the Muscogee County \n \n Juvenile Court and, if awarded, accept a grant for the period of July 1, 2019 \n \n to June 30, 2020 for up to $750,000 with no local match requirement and to \n \n amend the Multi-Governmental Fund by the amount of the grant award.
