A Resolution Authorizing THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE COORDINATING \n \n COUNCIL FOR A GRANT TO FUND THE MUSCOGEE COUNTY JUVENILE COURT AND IF AWARDED, \n \n AMEND THE MULTI-GOVERNMENTAL FUND BY THE AMOUNT OF THE GRANT AWARD. THERE IS \n \n NO LOCAL MATCH REQUIREMENT AND THE GRANT PERIOD IS FROM JULY 22, 2013 TO JUNE \n \n 30, 2014. whereas, funds in the amount of up to $500,000 have been made available from the \n \n Criminal Justice Coordinating Council for the Juvenile Court from July 22, \n \n 2013, to June 30, 2014 with no local match requirement; and,
whereas, the funds are being made available to create effective community programs to \n \n serve youth who are currently being committed to the Department of Juvenile \n \n Justice and/or sent to Short-term Programs as a sanction; and
WHEREAS, the Juvenile Court has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with \n \n Evidence Based Associates, LLC to assist with the Requrest for Proposal and \n \n serve as a managing entity of the evidenced based treatment programs.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That the City Manager is hereby authorized to submit an application for a grant \n \n to the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council to fund the Muscogee County \n \n Juvenile Court and if awarded accept a grant for the period of July 22, 2013 to \n \n June 30, 2014, with no local match requirement and to amend the \n \n Multi-Governmental Fund by the amount of the grant award. ______________
