A Resolution Authorizing THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN ENGINEERING AGREEMENT WITH W.K. DICKSON TO \n \n PROVIDE ENGINEERING AND PLAN DEVELOPMENT SERVICES TO THE CITY FOR THE \n \n INTELLIGENT TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM/TRAFFIC COORDINATION CENTER PROJECT IN THE \n \n AMOUNT OF $312, 411 WITH A 20% CONTINGENCY. whereas, the Engineering Department maintained an Annual Contract for Engineering \n \n Services thru Service Contract #02-0032 allowing three engineering firms to \n \n provide engineering services to the City; and,
whereas, the City's Purchasing Department submitted a Request For Information to each \n \n engineering firm to provide submittals for engineering services demonstrating \n \n that they had the capabilities and pre-approval with the Georgia DOT to provide \n \n design and plan development services for the ITS/TCC project; and,
WHEREAS, the Request For Information submittals were reviewed by an Evaluation \n \n Committee selecting W.K. Dickson as the firm to provide said services in \n \n accordance with the City Procurement requirements; and, \n \n WHEREAS, the Engineering Department recommends funding the preliminary \n \n engineering cost 10% of project cost which equals to $340,700; and, \n \n WHEREAS, the City is responsible for providing the engineering and plan \n \n development services for this DOT project with funding being derived from CIP \n \n project ATMS/Signal Project account #0508-660-3000-xxxx-20760-20070.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an Engineering \n \n Agreement with W.K. Dickson to provide engineering and plan development \n \n services to the City for the Intelligent Transportation System/Traffic \n \n Coordination Center Project in the amount of $312, 411 with a 20% contingency.
