A Resolution Authorizing THE CITY MANAGER TO REQUEST AND RECEIVE THE 2017 LOCAL MAINTENANCE & \n \n IMPROVEMENT GRANT (LMIG) FOR OFF-SYSTEM PROGRAM FUNDS FOR UPGRADE OF SCHOOL \n \n ZONE FLASHERS AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS THROUGHOUT THE COMMUNITY. whereas, the City is proposing to upgrade the existing school zone flashers at various \n \n locations throughout the community; and,
whereas, the Georgia Department of Transportation has a grant (LMIG) available for \n \n safety improvements on local road; and,
WHEREAS, it is necessary to execute the attached LMIG agreement (becoming part \n \n of the Resolution) to the GDOT application.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That the City Manager is hereby authorized to request and receive 2017 \n \n Local Maintenance & Improvement Grant (LMIG) up to $200,000 with the Georgia \n \n Department of Transportation (GDOT) for Off-System Safety Program Funds for \n \n upgrade of School Zone Flashers throughout the community. The 10% match \n \n requirement is available in OLOST Road Infrastructure.
