A Resolution Authorizing TO APPROVE AND ACCEPT THE DONATION OF 1 REEBOK TREADMILL V8.90 AND 1 GAZELLE \n \n FREESTYLE CROSSTRAINER GLIDER TO BE USED IN THE CENTER?S WEIGHT ROOM. whereas, Gallops Senior Center would like to accept the donation of 1 Reebok Treadmill \n \n V8.90 and 1 Gazelle Freestyle Crosstrainer Glider to be placed in the center?s \n \n weight room for all participants to use,
whereas, WHEREAS, A healthier heart, stronger bones, improved appearance and flexibility \n \n are just some of the benefits of exercising, especially for seniors, \n \n \n \n WHEREAS, Seniors have even more to gain than younger people by becoming \n \n more active because they are at higher risk for the health problems that \n \n physical activity can prevent. \n \n \n \n WHEREAS, Exercise is beneficial in preventing dementia and Alzheimer?s \n \n \n \n WHEREAS, Exercise may delay or prevent many diseases associated with \n \n aging, such as diabetes, colon cancer, heart disease, stroke, and others, and \n \n may reduce overall death and hospitalization rates, according to the National \n \n Institute of Aging. \n \n
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That the City Manager or his designee is hereby authorized to accept 1 Reebok \n \n Treadmill V8.90 and 1 Gazelle Freestyle Crosstrainer Glider, donated by a \n \n private donor, to place in the Gallops Seniors Center weight room for all \n \n participants to use. \n \n
