A Resolution Authorizing A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION AND IF APPROVED THE ACCEPTANCE OF A \n \n $23,745 GRANT FOM THE FIREHOUSE SUBS PUBLIC SAFETY FOUNDATION TO FUND THE \n \n PURCHASE OF ONE (1) MOBILE LICENSE PLATE READER AND AMEND THE \n \n MULTI-GOVERNMENTAL FUND (216) BY A LIKE AMOUNT. THERE IS NO MATCHING FUND \n \n REQUIREMENT. whereas, the Columbus Consolidated Government is committed to the effective and \n \n efficient protection of its citizens through proactive detection and \n \n apprehension of offenders; and,
whereas, the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation offers grants to improve the \n \n life-saving capabilities of first responders and public safety organizations in \n \n communities served by Firehouse Subs; and,
WHEREAS, the Muscogee County Marshal?s Office requests permission to make \n \n application to receive up to $23,745 funding to purchase a Mobile License Plate \n \n Reader System to read tags that are associated with various crimes.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That the Mayor or City Manager is hereby authorized to submit an application \n \n and if approved accept a $23,745 grant from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety \n \n Foundation and amend the Multi-Governmental Fund (216) in a like amount.
