A Resolution Authorizing THE CITY MANAGER EXECUTE THE LETTER OF SUPPORT FOR THE GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF \n \n TRANSPORTATION(GDOT) TO PURSUE THE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF ROUNDABOUTS AT \n \n THE INTERSECTIONS OF SPUR 22 AT MACON ROAD AND SPUR 22 AND LYNCH/TECHNOLOGY \n \n PARKWAY AND PARTICIPATE IN THE MAINTENANCE AND ENERGY COST OF LIGHTING AND \n \n MAINTENANCE OF LANDSCAPING AFTER CONSTRUCTION IS COMPLETE. whereas, Spur 22 is a state route and regulated by GDOT,
whereas, traffic studies were performed to evaluate the corridor for safety and \n \n efficiency with roundabouts being recommended at the identified locations,
WHEREAS, GDOT has requested support for the roundabouts as well as covering the \n \n maintenance and energy cost for lighting and landscaping after construction.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the Letter of \n \n Support to GDOT of the City's concurrence with the proposed Roundabouts as well \n \n as covering the lighting maintenance and energy cost and the landscape \n \n maintenance after construction.
