A Resolution Authorizing THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO OFFICE OF JUVENILE JUSTICE \n \n DELINQUENCY AND PREVENTION FOR A GRANT A FUND THE MUSCOGEE COUNTY FAMILY DRUG \n \n COURT AND IF AWARDED, AMENDED THE MULTI-GOVERNMENTAL FUND BY THE AMOUNT OF THE \n \n GRANT AWARD. THE GRANT PERIOD IS FROM JULY 1, 2016 THROUGH JUNVE 30, 2017. whereas, funds in the amount of up to $600,000 have been made available from the Office \n \n of Juvenile Justice Delinquency and Prevention for the implementation of a \n \n Family Drug Court from October 1, 2016 to September 30, 2019; and \n \n \n \n WHEREAS, the funds are being made available implement a Family Drug Court \n \n Program to provide treatment, case management and judicial oversight of \n \n families involved in dependency proceedings in the Juvenile Court due to \n \n parental substance abuse; and
whereas, in-kind matching funds have been identified and no funds will be required by \n \n Columbus Consolidated Government
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That the City Manager is hereby authorized to submit an application for a grant \n \n to the Office of Juvenile Justice Delinquency and Prevention for the \n \n implementation of a Family Drug Court from October 1, 2016 to September 30, \n \n 2019 for up to $600,000 and to amend the Multi-Governmental Fund by the amount \n \n of the grant award.
Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia, held the _________ day of _____________ and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote of _____________ members of said Council.
