A Resolution Authorizing THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A LEASE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF COLUMBUS \n \n AND CHATTAHOOCHEE VALLEY JAIL MINISTRY FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 921 LAWYERS LANE \n \n FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING HOUSING FOR DISADVANTAGED WOMEN AND WOMEN WITH \n \n CHILDREN.____________ whereas, The Columbus Consolidated Government of Columbus, Georgia wishes to support \n \n efforts in this community to provide assistance to disadvantaged women and \n \n women with children; and,_ \n \n WHEREAS, The Consolidated Government owns a six unit apartment complex located \n \n at 921 Lawyers Lane; and,______________
whereas, The Chattahoochee Valley Jail Ministry, a local non profit organization, is \n \n desiring to provide housing to disadvantaged women and women with children to \n \n assist them in finding shelter; and, \n \n WHEREAS, The Consolidated Government is the owner of a housing complex that is \n \n suitable to lease to Chattahoochee Valley Jail Ministry for the purpose of \n \n providing temporary housing for disadvantage women and women with children; and, \n \n WHEREAS, The lease will be terminated if the Chattahoochee Valley Jail Ministry \n \n discontinues to use the facility for the purposes stated above.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a Lease Agreement with \n \n the Chattahoochee Valley Jail Ministry, Inc. to lease the property located at \n \n 921 Lawyers Lane for 5 years with the option to renew for an additional 5 \n \n years.______________
