A Resolution Authorizing THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT AND IF APPROVED, ACCEPT A GRANT OF $500,000.00 OR AS \n \n OTHERWISE AWARDED FROM THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE COORDINATING COUNCIL TO FUND THE \n \n MUSCOGEE COUNTY ADULT DRUG COURT FROM JULY 1, 2019 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2020 WITH A \n \n 10% CASH LOCAL MATCH REQUIREMENT AND ALSO AUTHORIZING NEW HORIZONS BEHAVIORAL \n \n HEALTH TO ACT AS THE SOLE VENDOR FOR OUTPATIENT SERVICES FOR THE PROGRAM FOR \n \n FISCAL YEAR 2019/2020 AND TO AMEND THE MULTI-GOVERNMENTAL FUND BY THE AWARD \n \n AMOUNT._ whereas, funds have been made available from the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council \n \n to the Adult Felony Drug Court for a 12 month period beginning July 1, 2019 \n \n through June 30, 2020; and,
whereas, funds are being made available to provide support for the operation of the \n \n Muscogee County Adult Drug Court for FY20; and,
WHEREAS funds have been made available from the State through the CJCC to fund \n \n Accountability Courts in the State of Georgia and the CJCC is accepting grant \n \n requests from Accountability Courts throughout the State of Georgia; We are \n \n requesting to continue to use New Horizons Behavioral Health for our treatment \n \n needs for those without insurance, Talbott Recovery for treatment needs for \n \n those who have insurance and Dr. Andrew Cox for our clinical and programmatic \n \n evaluations \n \n WHEREAS, The City is required to provide a 10% cash matching funds to \n \n participate in this grant program. This cash match is satisfied by the current \n \n case manager salary paid for by the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That the City Manager is hereby authorized to submit a grant application to the \n \n Criminal Justice Coordinating Council to fund the Muscogee County Adult Felony \n \n Drug Court and if awarded accept $500,000.00 to provide funding from July 1, \n \n 2019 to June 30, 2020 and authorize a sole source contract to New Horizons \n \n Behavioral Health, Talbott Recovery and Dr. Andrew Cox and to amend the \n \n Multi-Governmental Fund by the amount of the grant award.
