A Resolution Authorizing THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT A QUIT CLAIM DEED FROM NORFOLK SOUTHERN FOR PROPERTY \n \n LOCATED AT ______ TO CREATE A MEMORIAL GARDEN RECOGNIZING THE "OLD COLORED \n \n CEMETERY"____________ whereas, the City of Columbus is committed to preserving historically significant sites; \n \n and,_______________
whereas, an Archeaological Study has confirmed the historic significance of this site as \n \n an original "Old Colored Cemetery"; and,__________
WHEREAS, it is the City's desire to create a Memorial Garden on this site to \n \n commemorate its historical significance; and \n \n WHEREAS, Norfolk Southern has provided a Quit Claim Deed for this property to \n \n the City for this purpose.____________
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

THE CITY MANAGER IS AUTHORIZED TO ACCEPT THE QUIT CLAIM DEED FROM NORFOLK \n \n SOUTHERN WHICH TRANSFERS PROPERTY AT ------- FOR THE PURPOSE OF CREATING A \n \n MEMORIAL GARDEN______________
