A Resolution Authorizing THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A LAND LEASE WITH UPTOWN COLUMBUS, INC., DBA \n \n WHITEWATER LLC, FOR PROPERTY LOCATED ON BAY AVENUE_________ whereas, _The City owns property on Bay Avenue that is uniquely positioned to serve as a \n \n site to operate a zip-line recreational facility, and___________
whereas, _The property has limited capacity for most other commerical activities due to \n \n utility conflicts and dimensions of the property, and \n \n WHEREAS, __The development of a zip-line business on the riverfront would be a \n \n popular attraction for visitors to the riverfront and would compliment the \n \n Whitewater venue, and \n \n WHEREAS, UpTown Columbus, Inc., dba Whitewater LLC has expressed an interest \n \n in developing this project and soliciting the capital investment necessary to \n \n bring the recreational venue to reality, and \n \n WHEREAS, The City considers it advantageous to promote further development on \n \n the riverfront and the use of City property for this purpose is in the public \n \n good, and \n \n WHEREAS, The City desires to enter into a revenue sharing lease agreement with \n \n Uptown Columbus, Inc., dba Whitewater LLC for a period of 10 years with an \n \n option to renew upon agreement of both parties. ________

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
____The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a land lease agreement \n \n with UpTown Columbus, Inc., dba Whitewater LLC for property on Bay Avenue for \n \n the purpose of developing a recreational venue.__________
