A Resolution Authorizing THE CITY MANAGER TO DISPOSE OF A SEGMENT OF WHITESVILLE ROAD RIGHT-OF-WAY AT \n \n 5729 WHITESVILLE ROAD A/K/A TAX MAP NUMBER 188, BLOCK NUMBER 004, PARCEL NUMBER \n \n 042 CONSISTING OF APPROXIMATELY 547 SQUARE FEET +/- AND EXECUTE A QUIT CLAIM \n \n DEED TO THE ADJACENT PROPERTY OWNER, BECK OFFICE BUILDING LLC. whereas, Whitesville Road, was part of the Georgia Department of Transportation (DOT) \n \n Veterans Parkway Widening Project that required additional right-of-way \n \n beginning at the northwest curb of Veterans Parkway; and,
whereas, an existing sign was in place prior to the widening project and is now \n \n overhanging said right-of-way conflicting with the City's Sign Ordinance; and,
WHEREAS, the Whitesville Road segment has no other uses to the City as a \n \n right-of-way.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That the City Manager is hereby authorized to dispose of a segment of \n \n Whitesville Road right-of-way at 5729 Whitesville Road a/k/a Tax Map Number \n \n 188, Block Number 004, Parcel Number 042 consisting of approximately 547 square \n \n feet +/- and execute a Quit Claim Deed to the adjacent property owner Beck \n \n Office Building LLC.
