A Resolution Authorizing THE CITY MANAGER OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA TO EXECUTE A SUPPLEMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH \n \n THE GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION ON BEHALF OF THE CITY FOR FINANCIAL \n \n ASSISTANCE TO CARRY OUT THE FY 2015 TRANSPORTATION PLANNING WORK ACTIVITIES OF \n \n THE COLUMBUS-PHENIX CITY TRANSPORTATION STUDY (C-PCTS). whereas, the City entered into an agreement with the Georgia Department of \n \n Transportation (GDOT) on June 10, 2014 for financial assistance; and,
whereas, GDOT has increased the funding for the Columbus-Phenix City Transportation \n \n Study with Carry Over Funds from 2014. This will increase the amount of Federal \n \n Funding (80%) from $250,882.19 to $330,371.19. The Local Funding (20%) has \n \n increased from $62,720.55 to $82,592.80; and,
WHEREAS, authorization is needed for the City Manager to enter into a \n \n contractural agreement with GDOT to receive the additional funding.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

(1) That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute said \n \n contract on behalf of the Consolidated Government of Columbus, Georgia and \n \n accept the carry over funds in the amount of $79,489.00; and, \n \n (2) That the City gives assurance that, should contract be executed, \n \n it is the intent of the Council to commit $19,872.25 for the local match from \n \n the Multi-Governmental Funds (Account 216); and, \n \n (3) That the City Manager is authorized to execute (or to delegate to \n \n the Metropolitan Planning Organization) the execution of and file with such \n \n application and assurance, or, other documents required by GDOT in \n \n connection with the application, and to requisition state funds to reimburse \n \n the City for eligible expenses under any resulting grant contracts.
