A Resolution Authorizing THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT A GRANT OF $26,353.10 FROM THE GEORGIA TRAUMA CARE \n \n NETWORK COMMISSION. FUNDS WILL BE UTILIZED for the PURCHASE OF TRAUMA EQUIPMENT \n \n TO AID THE citizens of Columbus and surrounding counties. trauma is the leading \n \n cause of death between the ages of 1-44. Overall injury is the 4th leading \n \n cause of death in the united states, but life years lost are greater from \n \n injury than from three other causes of death, heart disease, cancer and stroke. \n \n ____________ whereas, the Columbus Fire and Emergency Medical Services has been approved by the \n \n Georgia Trauma Care Network Commission to receive $26,353.10 of grant \n \n monies,_______________
whereas, the purchase of trauma equipment will enhance the delivery of trauma services \n \n by Columbus Fire and Emergency Medical Services,___________
WHEREAS, the funds have been allocated through the 2015 Georgia Trauma Care \n \n Network Commission Grant, \n \n \n \n WHEREAS, the equipment will be utilized to respond to trauma \n \n emergencies to Columbus and the surrounding counties and, \n \n \n \n WHEREAS, this grant proposal requires no matching \n \n funds,____________
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
1) That the City Manager is hereby authorized to accept a Georgia Trauma \n \n Care Network Commission Grant of $26,353.10. \n \n \n \n 2) Amend the budget if needed through increasing the Multi-Governmental Fund by \n \n $26,353.10 or the actual amount funded._____________
