A Resolution Authorizing CITY MANAGER TO PROCEED WITH EXECUTING AND FUNDING PRE-CONSTRUCTION \n \n REQUIREMENTS FOR INSTALLATION OF SIDEWALK ALONG YARBROUGH ROAD AND GARRETT ROAD \n \n BEGINNING AT THE EXISTING SIDEWALK ON YARBROUGH ROAD AND EXTENDING TO LONESOME \n \n PINE DRIVE. THE PROJECT SHALL BE FUNDED THROUGH THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT \n \n PROJECTS PAVING FUND, SPLOST FUNDS OR TSPLOST FUNDS TO INCLUDE RIGHT OF WAY \n \n ACQUISITION, PERMANENT AND TEMPORARY CONSTRUCTION EASEMENTS, UTILITY \n \n RELOCATION, ENVIRONMENTAL MITIGATION AND OTHER NECESSARY AGREEMENTS TO PREPARE \n \n THE PROJECT FOR CONSTRUCTION. whereas, since the completion of the Aaron Cohn Middle School located at 7352 Garrett \n \n Road , there have been numerous request for sidewalk installation,
whereas, in accordance with policy, where feasible, sidewalks should be installed within \n \n one-half mile of schools,
WHEREAS, it is going to be necessary to place portions of the sidewalk on a \n \n Georgia Power Easement and on other private property due to the topography and \n \n conflicts with existing drainage ditch, \n \n WHEREAS, funding for pre-construction services for the sidewalks is available \n \n through the Capital Improvement Project Paving Fund,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
The City Manager is hereby authorized to proceed with executing and funding the \n \n pre-construction requirements for the installation of sidewalk along Yarbrough \n \n Road and Garrett Road funded through the Capital Improvement Projects Paving \n \n Fund, SPLOST Funds or TSPLOST Funds.
