A Resolution Authorizing THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR ACQUISITION OF RIGHT OF WAY \n \n STATE-AID/FEDERAL-AID PROJECT (REIMBURSABLE) FOR WHITTLESEY ROAD WIDENING \n \n PROJECT, STP-8060(2), MUSCOGEE COUNTY, GEORGIA. whereas, this agreement is made and entered into by and between the Department of \n \n Transportation and the Consolidated Government of Columbus, Georgia, and;
whereas, the Department of Transportation and the City proposes to let for construction \n \n the above indicated project on Whittlesey Road, and;
WHEREAS, the portion of the rights of way which abuts Veterans Parkway is to \n \n be acquired in the name of the Department of Transportation by the City with \n \n the cost of the right of way being distributed between the City and the \n \n Department of Transportation as specified in the attached Contract and all \n \n other properties not abutting Veterans Parkway will be acquired in the name of \n \n the City, and; \n \n WHEREAS, the Department of Transportation will reimburse the City 100% for \n \n properties that abut Veterans Parkway of right of way cost when the cost has \n \n reached $3,000,000.00 or in nine (9) months increments whichever occurs first \n \n of the right of way purchased, and; \n \n WHEREAS, all procedures and policies depicted in the attached Contract will be \n \n adhered to.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a Contract for Acquisition of \n \n Right of Way State-Aid/Federal-Aid Project (Reimbursable) and subsequent \n \n agreements necessary to implement the Whittlesey Road Widening Project \n \n STP-8060(2), Muscogee County, Georgia.
