A Resolution Authorizing THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MOU) WITH THE \n \n MUSCOGEE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF IN THE \n \n WIDENING OF SCHOMBURG ROAD BETWEEN NORTH STADIUM DRIVE AND BRIDLEWOOD DRIVE. whereas, the Muscogee County School District is currently constructing a new elementary \n \n school between North Stadium and South Stadium Drives, with an anticipated \n \n opening of August 2007; and,
whereas, the new elementary school will generate additional traffic, requiring \n \n improvements to Schomburg Road; and, \n \n WHEREAS, the City proposes to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with the \n \n school district and its building contractor, to construct the road \n \n improvements.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a Memorandum of \n \n Understanding with the Muscogee County School District for widening of \n \n Schomburg Road, from North Stadium Drive to Bridlewood Drive at a cost not to \n \n exceed $1,140,000, utilizing SPLOST funds
