Subject: (EXCP-11-13-3413) Special Exception Use request to Operate a Private School and
add/upgrade the Ballfields at 7620, 7600 & 7556 Old Moon Road.
On 11/4/2013, Calvary Christian School/Ricky Smith submitted a Special
Exception Use application to operate a private school and add/upgrade the
ballfields. The properties are located in an SFR1 & 3 (Single Family
Residential 1 & 3) zoning district. The site for the existing/proposed private
school and ballfields is approximately 33.48 acres. Private schools are
permitted in an SFR1 & 3 zoning district only on a site-specific basis upon
approval of the Council based upon some conditions.
Attached is a land use map showing the location of the property along with the
proposed site plan. The Planning Department staff is currently reviewing the
request. We project the request will be on Council?s January 14th?s agenda. A
staff report has been sent to the Clerk of Council prior to the Council meeting
date.
