Subject: Variance request received by Planning Department to waive street frontage

requirements at 7608 Schomburg Road

On June 2, 2006, Moon, Meeks, Mason & Vinson submitted a variance request to

waive street frontage requirements at 7608 Schomburg Road. The applicant is

proposing to waive public street frontage requirements and allow a 40? joint

use access easement to serve as the primary right of entry onto subject

property (proposed Lot 200 ?see replat). The property is currently zoned NC

(Neighborhood Commercial). This variance request is allowed only by approval

of City Council on a case-by-case basis.



Please find attached: 1) a site plan displaying the proposed layout of the

property, and 2) a map illustrating the general location of the site. Planning

Department staff is currently reviewing the request. The applicant?s request

will be placed on the Columbus Council Agenda for Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at

9:00 am. A staff report will be sent to the Clerk of Council prior to the

council meeting date.
