Subject: (EXCP- 5-12-2044) Special Exception Use request to operate a day care, Type
III, as an associated use to a church located at 7170 and 7176 Beaver Run Road.
On May 17, 2012 Columbus Christian Preschool / Tammy Watts submitted a Special
Exception Use application to allow for the operation of a day care, Type III
(more than 18 clients), as an associated use to an existing church located in a
residential zoning district. The property is located in a SFR3 (Single Family
Residential 3) zoning district. The site for the proposed day care is
approximately 4.95 acres. A day care, Type I is allowed in SFR3 zoning
district, but day care, Type II and III (not less than 7 clients) shall be
located as a special exception use as provided in Section 3.1.1 of the Unified
Development Ordinance.
Attached is a land use map showing the location of the property along with the
proposed site plan. The Planning Department has included the request on
Council?s July 24th agenda. A staff report has been sent to the Clerk of
Council.
