Subject: Variance request received by Planning Department to waive street frontage
requirements at 2925 Manchester Expressway

On July 17, 2006, Best Buy, LP submitted a variance request to waive street
frontage requirements for a landlocked parcel. The property is located at 2925
Manchester Expressway applicant is proposing to waive public street frontage
requirements and allow a 24? access easement to serve as the primary right of
entry onto the subject property. The property is currently zoned GC (General
Commercial). This variance request is allowed only by approval of City Council
on a case-by-case basis.
Please find attached: 1) a site plan displaying the proposed layout of the
property, and 2) a map illustrating the general location of the site. Planning
Department staff is currently reviewing the request. The applicant?s request
will be placed on the Columbus Council Agenda for Tuesday, August 8, 2006 at
9:00 am. A staff report will be sent to the Clerk of Council prior to the
council meeting date.
