Subject: Letter of Map Revision Update, Lindsey Creek East Branch - Public \n \n Notices and Appeal Period

No attachments for this document.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has approved the Letter of Map

Revision for the Lindsey Creek East Branch Watershed (Windsor Park to Tower

Road). The first Public Notice concerning the proposed flood map change was

published in the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer on Thursday, May 22nd. The second

and final Legal Notice was published on Thursday May 29th.

A 90-day appeal period began immediately after the second public notice. This

mandatory appeal period will allow individuals to submit new or better

technical data to FEMA for consideration. Assuming that no new or better

technical data is submitted, the Letter of Map Revision will take effect the

last week of August. At that time, I will have already prepared the

documentation normally required to alter the individual properties' floodplain

status. Homeowners will be able to pass along this information to their

Lenders and Insurance Agents for either policy modification or

cancellation/nullification. Full or partial refunds of premiums paid for the

current policy year may be available at that time.

I mailed out individual notices to the affected properties on Friday May 30th.

This mailout included a summary cover letter and a copy of the Letter of Map

Revision itself (for those without internet access). The cover letter also

included my contact information if anyone had questions or comments.
