On Tuesday, October 2, Council approved the new fees proposed by the Planning

Department for Zoning and Subdivision applications. The adopted ordinance

calls for fees to go into effect October 15, 2007. This short timeframe

however, will not allow us to prepare adequately for the actual implementation

of these fees. The Planning Department is requesting that the actual

implementation be delayed until December 1, 2007. This will allow staff the

opportunity to properly notify citizens on these fee increases, through

letters, newspaper ads, and other available information sources. It will also

provide the needed time to develop the necessary procedures and forms to

properly administer this program.
