Subject: Mutual Aid Request
No attachments for this document.
The Department of Fire/EMS has received a Mutual-Aid request from the Americus
Fire Department for an ambulance. Americus was hit extremely hard on March 1,
2007 by a tornado and sustained major damages to their ambulance fleet.
According to the Americus officials, they should have their fleet repaired and
back in service in about a week. At this time Fire/EMS has the capacity to
provide Americus Fire Department with one of our reserve units for
approximately one week. Under Mutual-Aid they will accept responsibilty for
maintence of the unit and hold the City harmless while operating the unit. The
City Manager has authorized Fire/EMS to comply with this request and provide
the reserve ambulance unit to Americus Fire Department for the period of time
requested.
