Subject: Variance request received by Planning Department to waive street
frontage requirements at 4802
Cargo Drive

On June 2, 2006, the Columbus Development Authority submitted a variance
request to waive street frontage requirements for an existing landlocked
parcel. The property is located at 4802 Cargo Drive. The applicant is
proposing to waive pubic street frontage requirements and allow a 60? private
street to serve as the primary right of entry onto the subject property. The
property is currently zoned LMI (Light Manufacturing/Industrial). This
variance request is allowed only by approval of City Council on a case-by-case
basis.
Please find attached: 1) a site plan displaying the proposed layout of the
property, and 2) a map illustrating the general location of the site. Planning
Department staff is currently reviewing the request. The applicant?s request
will be placed on the Columbus Council Agenda for Tuesday, June 13, 2006 at
9:00 am. A staff report will be sent to the Clerk of Council prior to the
council meeting date.
