A RESOLUTION
No.
WHEREAS, Dr. Champ L. Baker, Jr., orthopaedic surgeon at Hughston Clinic, was
recently presented with two national awards;
WHEREAS, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) honored
Dr. Baker with the Robert E. Leach MD ?Mr. Sports Medicine Award? for his
significant contributions to the world of sports medicine;
WHEREAS, Dr. Baker also received the George D. Rovere, MD Award for his
contributions to sports medicine education;
WHEREAS, the awards was presented at a three-day conference held in Providence,
RI in July with more than 1400 orthopaedic surgeons in attendance;
WHEREAS, the accomplishments of Dr. Champ L. Baker, Jr. are worthy of special
recognition by this Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:
We hereby commend and congratulate Dr. Champ L. Baker, Jr. upon his receiving
the Robert E. Leach MD and George D. Rovere, MD Awards. Columbus is proud of
Dr. Baker?s accomplishments and we wish him every success in the future. Let a
copy of this resolution be forwarded to Dr. Champ L. Baker, Jr.

28th day of September, 2010, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative
