An ordinance amending the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) for Columbus,
Georgia so as to amend certain set back requirements for monopole tower
structures in relation to residential structures; and for other purposes.

THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1.
Chapter 3 of the Unified Development Ordinance is hereby amended by amending
Section 3.2.72.K.1. to read as follows:
1. Setbacks.
(A) A monopole tower structure shall be placed no closer than a distance equal
to the height of the tower structure from any residential structure. All other
types of tower structures shall not be placed within 300 feet of a residential
structure.
(B) All towers shall be located at least one-third of its height from any
public right-of-way.
(C) Setbacks shall be based on the entire lot on which the tower is located and
shall not be applied to any lease area within the host parcel.
(D) Towers and accessory structures or anchors in conjunction with a tower
shall comply with the minimum yard requirements of the zoning district in which
they are located.
SECTION 2.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are
hereby repealed.
