O R D I N A N C E S:





(1) 2nd Reading - Property located at 620 Brown Avenue are proposed for

rezoning from RO (Residential-Office) District to GC (General Commercial)

District. (1-A-08-Capital Pest Control) (Councilor Allen) The proposed use is

pest control business. The Planning Advisory Commission and the Planning

Division recommend approval. (As amended.)



(2) 2nd Reading - Property located at 1330 Victory Drive are proposed for

rezoning from LMI (Light Manufacturing/Industrial) District to GC (General

Commercial) District. (2-CA-08-Moore) (Councilor McDaniel) The proposed use is

a pawn shop. The Planning Advisory Commission and the Planning Division

recommends conditional approval.

(3) 1st Reading ? An ordinance amending the budgets for the Fiscal Year 2008

beginning July 1, 2007 and ending June 30, 2008, for certain funds of the

Consolidated Government of Columbus, Georgia, appropriating amounts shown in

each fund for capital and other activities; and for other purposes. (Budget

Review Committee)



(4) SURPLUS PROPERTY - ENTERPRISE ZONE (URBAN INDUSTRIAL PARK):



Authorization is requested to declare eight Parcels, consisting of 35.57 +/-

acres, of property in the Enterprise Zone on Fort Benning Road and Cusseta Road

as surplus and advertise said properties for sell in accordance with Section

7-501 of the City Code through a Request for Proposal process. An agenda

report, resolution, property list and map are attached.



(5) STREET ACCEPTANCE - WINIFRED LANE AND OLIVIA LANE LOCATED IN SARAHLAND

SUBDIVISION:



Authorization is requested for the acceptance of a deed to Winifred Lane and

Olivia Lane located in Sarahland Subdivision. The Department of Engineering

has inspected these streets and recommends the acceptance. An agenda report,

map and resolution are attached.



(6) GEORGIA POWER - STREET LIGHTING:



Authorization is requested to execute a contract with the Georgia Power Company

to install street lights along Gateway Road from Cooper Creek northeasterly to

J. R. Allen Parkway in an amount not to exceed $36,635. An agenda report, map

and resolution are attached.



(7) TURNING LANE IMPROVEMENTS:



Authorization is requested to execute a contract with Shannon, Strobel

and Weaver Constructors and Engineers, Inc., to construct a 12 ft. right turn

lane along Beaver Run Road in the length of 220 ft. +/- from the northbound

off-ramp of Manchester Expressway east to the existing right turn lane for Flat

Rock Road in an amount not to exceed $46,558. An agenda report, map and

resolution are attached.

(8) Resolution Changing the February 26, 2008 Consent Agenda/Work

Session to a Regular Council Meeting/Work Session.



(9) Application of Rev J.H. Flakes, III to temporarily close the 9th

Street from 1st Avenue to 2ndAvenue on Saturday, February, 23 2008, from 11:00

A.M to 2:00 P.M, in connection with Rally after ?March Against Crime?

pedestrian safety. (The Police Department recommends approval.)
