A RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Dana Gentry, Phenix City lawyer, recently rescued a mother and her son

from the rip current at Panama City Beach, Florida;



WHEREAS, Mr. Gentry was vacationing with his son, Dawson, when he saw Olga

Phillips and her son, Joshua of Canton, Georgia, struggling about 100 yards

offshore;



WHEREAS, he quickly hit the water and pulled Ms. Phillips and Joshua to safety;



WHEREAS, Ms. Philips was transported to the hospital, treated and released;



WHEREAS, the families have remained in contact since the incident;



WHEREAS, the courageous actions of attorney Dana Gentry are worthy of special

recognition by this Council.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We hereby commend and congratulate local attorney Dana Gentry for his bravery

and quick thinking in the rescue of Olga and Joshua Phillips of Canton at

Panama City Beach, Florida. Columbus is proud of his actions and we wish him

every success in the future. Let a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr.

Dana Gentry.
