TAXICAB COMMISSION:



Have the staff to consult with her to look at drafting an amendment to the

Vehicle for Hire Ordinance to add a representative from the Convention &

Visitors Bureau. (Request of Councilor Woodson)

TO THE CITY MANAGER:



UDO CAF? ORDINANCE:



Have the staff to get a statement from the Chief of Police, as well as

officials from Fort Benning as to any concerns that they might have with

respect to safety issues in Uptown Columbus. (Request of Councilor Henderson)



Also, provide information from CSU as to their position on this proposed

ordinance. (Request of Councilor Davis)



Have the staff to closely watch for those underage patrons who may attend

functions in the Uptown area so that there will not be any problems with them

participating in drinking of alcohol. (Request of Councilor Allen)

OVERLAY DISTRICT ? PANHANDLE AREA:



If this Council approves the overlay district ordinance for the area along

Highway 80 from Warm Springs Road to the Talbot County line, let?s make sure

that we have the staff to provide a copy of this ordinance to all the

landowners in the area. (Request of Mayor Pro Tem Turner Pugh)

HOMELESS INDIVIDUALS:



Have the staff to contact Ms. Elizabeth Dillard with the Homeless Task

Force regarding those homeless individuals who were moved from the Second

Avenue bridge that are now living behind the Piggly Wiggly on North Lumpkin

Road and let?s look at trying to get them moved into one of the homeless

shelters or a different location. (Request of Councilor Woodson)

PAYLESS SHOE STORE:



Have the staff to have someone to go out and check the property line at

the Payless Shoe Store on Victory Drive, also look into the concerns of a

vehicle falling. (Request of Councilor Woodson)

TO THE POLICE DEPARTMENT:



TAXICAB COMMISSION:



When we have the Work Session, let?s make sure that information is

provided to the Council as to what are the rates that are being charged at Fort

Benning.

Also, provide some information as to why there are only 64 out of the 200

taxicabs that we have in Columbus that are allowed on Fort Benning. (Request of

Mayor Pro Tem Turner Pugh)
