A RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Columbus youth and the community will be celebrating 50 years of

Columbus Youth Football, Inc. on September 20, 2008 at A. J. McClung;



WHEREAS, The National Youth Sports Coaches Association (NYSCA) seeks to inspire

youth to practice the ideals of sportsmanship, teamwork, and physical fitness

regardless of race, creed or national origin;



WHEREAS, Division I and Division II programs have provided the basics across

Columbus and surrounding areas for football, cheerleading and success in the

classroom;



WHEREAS, Past and present volunteers have made youth sports successful with the

continued partnership with the City of Columbus, and The Department of Parks

and Recreation;



WHEREAS, the accomplishments of Columbus Youth Football, Inc., its board

members, coaches and volunteers are worthy of special recognition by this

Council.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We hereby commend and congratulate Columbus Youth Football, Inc., upon its

celebration of 50 years of service in the Columbus community. Columbus is proud

of this organization and we wish them every success in the future. Let a copy

of this resolution be forwarded to Columbus Youth Football, Inc., Board of

Directors Chairman, Julia Crocker, Executive Board Members Raymond Cook, Sam

Sears, Gwen Herron, League Presidents Jeff Herron (Clubview Bulldogs), Carmen

Buckner (Eastway Cherokees), DeRon Furr (Edgewood Red Devils), Dorrie Wagner

(Fort Benning Bengals), Isaac Guest (Northeast Packers), Jasper Washington

(Phenix City Titans, Jessie Lewis-Herron (South Columbus Raiders), Col. Spence

and John Hindsman.
