Subject Year Round Once Per Week Garbage Pickup

Description Let?s not consider regular Monday garbage pickup because that?s

normally when a holiday falls; but let?s look at possibly Tuesday, Wednesday,

Thursday and Friday being the regular pickup days, and Monday being that

special pickup day instead of Wednesday.

Also, let?s look at the possibility of a computer in the vehicle and the driver

being able to interact with the system to inform the main office that there are

items that needs to be picked up and can inform them by computer. (Request of

Mayor Pro Tem Turner Pugh)

Let?s make sure we allow for public input on this recommendation during a

Council meeting. Also, let?s get a comparison of what other comparable cities

charge for garbage pickup; and how do we compare to other counties around us.

(Request of Councilor Anthony)

When the staff brings back this information, let?s also bring back what the

State and Federal mandates are that forced us in a position to begin charging

the $14.00 garbage collection fee. (Request of Councilor Allen)

Have the staff to provide the report to the Council that was previously

gathered several years ago regarding a composite system that we wanted to put

in place here in our area. (Request of Councilor Woodson)
