Subject: Donation of a Fitness Park at Rotary Park
Initiated By: Parks and Recreation Department
Recommendation: Approval is requested authorizing the acceptance of a donation
of a Fitness Park from Together 2017, valued at $73,650.00 placed at Rotary
Park and will be known as Fitness Together@Rotary Park.
Background: Together 2017 is a campaign where our region?s business and
community leaders do what they do best; partner together, combine energy with
resources, invest in our community and promote our community?s brand and
quality of life. Together 2017 uses funds to support community projects that
make our region a better place to live and work. Project ideas are contributed
by the public, by Together 2017 partners and their next Generation
representatives. This year, Together 2017 has collaborated with the Parks and
Recreation Department for a project and will be donating a Fitness Park to
Rotary Park. This Fitness Park is valued at $73.650.00.
Analysis: This Fitness Park is a donation to the city through Together 2017
and will be utilized by citizens using Rotary Park as well as those citizens
using that portion of the Riverwalk.
Financial Considerations: This will be at no cost to the City as it is a
private donation.
Fiscal Impact: None expected except for routine maintenance of the Fitness
Park.
Legal: Council must approve the acceptance of this donation.
Recommendation: Approval is requested to accept the donation of a Fitness Park
from Together 2017 valued at $73,650.00 to be put at Rotary Park.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF A FITNESS PARK
DONATED BY TOGETHER 2017 TO BE PLACED AT ROTARY PARK.
WHEREAS, Together 2017 is a campaign where our region?s business and community
leaders do what they do best; partner together, combine energy with resources,
invest in our community and promote our community?s brand and quality of life.
Together 2017 uses funds to support community projects that make our region a
better place to live and work. Project ideas are contributed by the public, by
Together 2017 partners and their next Generation representatives; and,
WHEREAS, this year Together 2017 has collaborated with the Parks and Recreation
Department for a project and will be donating a Fitness Park to Rotary Park.
This Fitness Park is valued at $73.650.00; and,
WHEREAS, Together 2017 will donate this Fitness Park known as Fitness Together
@ Rotary Park and will be of no cost to the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS
FOLLOWS:
That the City Manager or his designee is hereby authorized to accept
this Fitness Park from Together 2017 to be placed at Rotary Park.
