SUBJECT: Lease Agreement with Synovous Bank/ATM Machine
INITIATED BY: Metra
Recommendation: Approval is requested to enter into a lease renewal agreement
with Synovous Bank and allow a walk up automatic teller machine (ATM) at Bay
Avenue Parking Deck.
Background: Synovous Bank currently has an ATM at the Bay Avenue Parking Garage
located at #4 12th Street, adjacent to the Chattahoochee River Club and the
Synovous Center.
Analysis: Synovous Bank currently has a pad necessary to support the ATM, and
handicap access ramps and landings that is fully compliant with the Americans
with Disabilities Act. They have provided communication cable and electrical
service to the site to support the terminal. A site plan, digital images of
the proposed ATM with signage, and a proposed ground lease consistent with
similar locations in their network are included. This will continue to serve as
the first public-facing ATM of the bank wide upgrade of ATM equipment that was
activated on August 23, 2012. The term of the lease renewal shall be 60 months
beginning August 1, 2017 and ending on July 31, 2022.
Financial Considerations: Synovous Bank will pay the City (METRA Transit
System; Parking Management Division) $150.00 per month during the term of the
lease.
Legal Considerations: City Attorney?s Office has approved to form.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A LEASE RENEWAL
AGREEMENT WITH SYNOVOUS BANK AND ALLOW A WALK UP AUTOMATIC TELLER MACHINE (ATM)
AT THE BAY PARKING GARAGE.
WHEREAS, Synovous currently has an ATM at the Bay Avenue Parking Garage
located #4 12th Street, adjacent to the Chattahoochee River Club and the
Synovous Center; and,
WHEREAS, Synovous currently has a concrete pad necessary to support the
new ATM and handicap access ramp and landing to be fully compliant with the
Americans with Disabilities Act; and,
WHEREAS, a location map, site plain, proposed placement picture, ATM Structure
Plan and a Proposed Lease Renewal Agreement are attached; and,
WHEREAS, Synovous will rent said premises for a sum of One Hundred Fifty
Dollars ($ 150.00) per month from the City for 60 months beginning August 1,
2017 ending on July 31, 2022.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a lease
renewal agreement with Synovous Bank and allow a walk up automatic teller
machine (ATM) at the Bay Avenue Parking Deck.
